About

Thanks for reading this blog.  I find it very encouraging that someone is interested in what I write.  I am first and foremost the husband of an incredible wife, and my childrens’ father.  I married an Arkansan from the Ozark foothills.  Everyone needs a “constant” in their life to give them stability and security… God gave me her.  My kids range from the talented 25 year old daughter, who is the mother of the world’s most fun 3 year old, to the 22 year old who continues to amaze me with his insight and ability to be better at everything which I ever thought I had any talent, to the 16 year old who grows up a little more amazing every day and continues to unveil a seemingly endless range of abilities, to the 8 year old who’s ability to care and share his heart continues to gives great wonder.  Most of all, they really are good kids… my proudest involvement.

In my other time I am the minister for the South Main Church of Christ in Greenville, Ms.  I have also served in the past as a youth minister in Conway, Ar. and Memphis, Tn., as well as preaching for churches in Brighton, Tn. and Idabel, Ok.  I have been involved in creating workcamps in Memphis, mission work in Mexico, and a whole lot of sermons.  Some blessed the hearers, and in others, the hearers blessed the preacher by hanging in there.

I grew up in Harrah, Ok. and have always wanted to get back there someday.  Of course I’d want all the folks I grew up with to be there as well.  My mom and siblings still live in that area, and I can’t get home enough.  I absolutely loved my two years at Crowley’s Ridge College.  Oklahoma Christian University and  Freed-Hardeman University were great.  Harding Graduate School of Religion… if I have anything to contribute as a minister, it is to their credit.  All my life I have been surrounded by caring hearts, great teachers, and billiant minds.  It’s rewarding to look back and see the friends we have from every juncture along the way.  It is humbling to see the vast crowd who have blessed me and invested in who I am.

Finally, I am a debtor to the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.  Their care, provision, and the people they have brought into my life amazes me still.  This blog is mostly an effort just to pass on the blessings they have provided to me.  I hope it helps!

  • Danny, you’ve still got the words! It made me feel better this morning to read your “stuff.” I hear good reports on you from the Burleson’s; keep up the good work! We’re lovin’ life in LR with our grands. Also, the spirit of the church here is really good. Good luck in all you do, Buddy
